Since July 14th, 1943, the Hickory Elks Lodge has served the greater Hickory metropolitan area with distinction. The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks is founded on the principles of Charity, Justice, Brotherly Love, and Fidelity. The Elks are advocates of Americanism, Patriotism, and Veterans Support.
Today, the Hickory lodge carries out the vision of its founders to contribute to the growth and vitality of the City of Hickory and its citizens. Elks are involved in a number of activities to include: Adults with Special Needs, Helping Hands, Drug Awareness, Youth Hoop Shoot, Backpack Program, Veterans Stand Down, Americanism Essay Contest, College Scholarships, Military Service Persons Recognition, Public Servant Recognition, the annual Veterans Day Ceremony, and the annual City Easter Egg Hunt.
